What’s Your Feedback Story? Join the others and send it in!

42-16157334Thank you for sending in your stories on how feedback has enriched your life.

In each story received so far, I can see how you have learned from those around you to make your surroundings a better place.

Feedback is how we communicate to those around us.

MYTH: Feedback is for the working environment.

FACT: Feedback is all around us.  Feedback is how we communicate, from a friendly smile to a kind hello. Feedback is how we present ourselves to those in our path, from friends, family, and co-workers.

FEEDBACK TIP: Start every day with a “Good Morning!” salut to your family or the first people you meet (even yourself in the mirror!).

REAL LIFE EXAMPLE: My 6-year old son used to wake up very grumpy in the morning.  Since we’ve started implementing this feedback tip, he knows that no matter how he is feeling when he wakes up (tired, cranky, hungry, whatever) he has to communicate positive thoughts.  SUCCESS!  He  says “Good Morning” with a smile and is now able to communicate his morning needs and feelings calmly.

OUTCOME: Everyone wins! We, his family, are calm and happy; the bus driver, teacher, and classmates also benefit from having a happy kid around.

Now it’s your turn to try!
